Experience Summary:
With 30 years of experience, this US Army veteran's passion for photography is evident in each image he captures. Jimmie D Gillyard, Jr’s photography career began as a hobby while living in Europe. While there he was afforded the opportunity to photograph landmarks in Spain, London, Italy, Paris, Switzerland, and Belgium.
After 22 years in the military he decided to retire and he earned his Master’s in Business Administration, with a concentration in Technology Management which he soon after used to start and manage his rightfully named business, Perfect Image Studio, that is located in Rock Hill, and Columbia, South Carolina.
Today, his list of experience has expanded to include photographing President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama, Former President Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Fantasia Barrino, Ice Cube, Tyson Bedford, Chuck Norris, and other well known figures.
His talent has also afforded him the opportunity to provide headshots for several local colleges, Wells Fargo's Corporate Office in Charlotte, Bloomingdale's, and a well known New York modeling agency, as well as, freelance for a nationwide military magazine, called "Citizen-Soldier".
In his personal time, Jimmie avidly travels with his wife of nearly 30 years, prepares to send his younger daughter to college in the fall, and assists his older daughter in running her own small business. He serves as the Editor's Photographer for Fit Figure Magazine and the Resident Photographer at his church, Freedom Temple Ministries. In addition he teaches a group of young aspiring photographers the art of photography.
